A few weeks ago I posted some moon shots i took.
well tonight I got the urge to reprocess the images a little differently
here the original single image
This was my first stacking job
this is the reprocessed image
this time i croped and then sharpened each image, then I stacked 21 images using registax, then I adjusted the contrast and brightness and the gamma a little

All i gotta say is "WOW"! The detail is great. I would love to see the full resolution image. |

second that - nicely done. I like everything about the newest version except for the, IMO, overly tight crop. |

I'll have to agree with the others, this is great. Its amazing how much detail you got out of that. I wonder how much detail NASA is getting with some of their telescopes if you can get this much detail with yours. |

So, what is registax, and where can it be found? |

registax is an image editing program specifically created for stacking multiple images for astrophotography...and its free
Registax web site
i think it only spis out b/w images, I have not used it for anything other than the moon, other editing is done with other programs like Ulead or photoshop
