I received a phone call that one of my models is going to appear on a well known day time talk show and they want to license photos of her. I just received the message and haven't had time to call back. Anyone have any idea of how to determine the license required (assuming they'll have something in mind)...and price...obviously the big issue. Anyone have an idea of the price range I should be expecting????

Thank you.

No idea myself, but I've bookmarked this link to try and help with threads like this:

Without knowing the usage it's impossible to guess. Once you do find out Paul's link should help but also the show's media kit which should be on their web site. That right there will tell you everything you need to know about how much they value their exposure so you can use that as a guide as well.

I should have know better....anyone want to guess what they want to pay....$0. It's only a well known talk show. So I guess it will be alot of exposure. I still haven't gotten all the licensing details but they also haven't figured out which photos yet either. So I'll let them decide if they want to use the photos before we talk all the business details.

I'm hoping that this can help the phone start ringing and the emails to start coming in.

the exposure is not worth allowing them to exploit you. if the images are available and they like them, then they need to pay you to use them. who wins when you give it away? not you. really. think long and hard how you can capitalize on being able to say "i had a headshot shown on a tv show." B-F-D. really. so what? you don't get credibility by giving it away, unless you can capitalize on it. ya got a plan for that?

screw 'em if they can't pay you. let 'em grab something with a point-and-shoot or pay someone to produce the images.

call it $275 per 5 seconds at 1/4 screen.

Just to see what they say.
