Ugh.

Just more money I'm going to have to spend on school. Any idea how much this will cost me with a student discount? I'm going to be broke before I even get to college.. haha

I know I can get Photoshop for like $200 on campus and don't see CS5 being anymore when it comes out.

I would have been so much more impressed with the countdown clock if it had the appearance of a static image behind all of the numbers.

I will definately be upgrading to 5 when it is released because it has some very cool new features that have impressed me right out of my pants.

I'm going to reserve judgment on CS5. The content-aware features don't trip my trigger all that much. They are impressive, it is true, but how much would I really make use of them? I'm more interested in features that enhance my everyday editing performance.
If I had to decide where to spend $$$ on editing software this year, I'd probably wait for the release of Lr 3.0, which sounds like it will be a significant upgrade from 2.X, which is already a fantastic product.

Ive also been playing with LR3 a bit and it is pretty sweet, you can actually DL the LR3 Beta straight from Adobe with your Adobe ID.

Any ideas whether you can upgrade straight from CS2?

I'm sure you'll be able to. Typically the cost is higher the older the version you're basing from.

There's the link for the LR3 Beta 2... as Dave said, very sweet. Definitely worth trying, plus the chance to let them know in the forums what you think ~:D

I'm going to have check into this for sure through the bookstore with my school and see what I can find out ... thanks for the idea! ~:D
