Ok, a very wise person one said, don't buy on the corner of a culdesac or on the end of a road that T's. That is a very smart person!!
Very brief story....Last evening, while all of us neighbors were in varying stages of readying for bed, each in our own homes, there was heard a very loud BANG! We all had different images in our minds of what happened, but upon looking out our window, all I could see was the tail lights of a Lexus in the garage wall of the home across the street. The home has a J drive, but now has a DRIVE THROUGH!
A neighbor is a police officer and he helped get the proper agencies dispatched to the location, the guy in the car first tried to back the car out, then decided he was going to get out and I think he thought about leaving, but our neighbor got him on his knees and announced he was a police officer and kept him in that position until the officers on duty arrived. He was cuffed and stuffed. They put him in a neck brace, strapped him to a board and then he tried to get loose. He had lots of empty wine bottles in the car, and our officer friend suggested that the driver was probably out before he even hit the wall. Image a rounded corner going north, then east. This house is right on the outside corner. (We are inside on the hill.) The car missed the mailbox (somehow) missed the tree and slid into the wall. He hit their car parked inside of the garage and then pushed it into the inside wall of the garage.
Luckily, no one was injured besides the driver's reputation and maybe a scratch or two!
The lady of the house was terrified and she grabbed the baby and hid in the closet as her first instincts were that someone was trying to break into the house.
Needless to say, our whole neighborhood was out eyeballing the situation. (What ever happened to the days of just sitting in the driveway drinking wine?? Now we need a wreck to get everyone together? Sheesh!)
My 40D is in the Canon hospital, so all I had was the XT and you all know how blurry my pictures with that camera are, lol....but as everyone here says....
"It's no good without pictures", so he are a couple of shots and I'll try and see if I can share more in the next day or so. (These are not fixed, they are even crooked, but who cares!)
And how was YOUR evening last night??!! :)

That reminds me of something that happened to a friend of mine.
He has a low gate at the top of his driveway that he has to get out and open every time he gets home. So one night he got out of his car to open the gate, and as he got out the car started rolling forward and he realised he'd left the handbrake off.
But the gate was still closed, and was only about a metre in front of the car, so he didn't panic - he thought the car would harmlessly roll up against the gate...
Instead the weight of the car was enough to burst the gate open and it continued rolling down the drive! The driveway makes a little turn just before it gets to the garage, but the car just went straight into the living room wall, and ended up parked halfway inside the living room! No one was hurt thank goodness.
Like I keep telling him: remote controlled electric gates... (it is the 21st century already) |

Redneck 911 call;
My wife is hurt! She's barely breathing.
Give me your street address and we will get an ambulance on the way.
I'm at 2011 Sycamore St!
Can you spell that for me please?
Long pause,,,,,,
Meet me across the block at Oak St. I'll drag her over there..
