A few things keeping me from a paying membership

-My favorite photograph returning the lowest scores.
-Being disqualified because I was unable to produce "proof". -which really pissed me off, because whoever is in charge of disqualification i imagine would know more about photography than the idiot who challenged me...
-Asshats who tell me that The "General" section isn't for general discussion, but actually only about the subject of photography. EVEN THOUGH THERE'S AN ENTIRE SECTION DEVOTED TO THAT. What the hell? At the forums entry page there are 6 main sections: INCLUDING THE ONE NAMED: "PHOTOGRAPHY". When I post in the "OTHER" section, and read the description of the "general discussion" room, (NO OTHER PLACE? TRY HERE!) I assssume i'm not being an asshat posting in the wrong sections of the forum. Apparantly I'm wrong about that. (I assume I can post this "rant" in the RANT section, but we'll see if the forum nazis scold me anyway.
- I'm sick of all the crap I have to sift through to find something that is actually done well.. And even when that happens, It's regurgitated photography. BE CREATIVE.. i believe you're asked to be creative at the beginning of every challenge, but i could be wrong.
- AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH.... I KNOW BIAS PLAYED A PART IN MY DISQUALIFICATION.. "rusted steel slut" was just too inapropriate for you goddamn squares...

I mean.. i can understand proof being necessary if you're looking at the top 10.. maybe the top 30.. who knows.. maybe the top 200.. but i was getting a 3.2 and loving it..

Why weren't you able to produce proof? It also says all over the entry form, the rules, the forums, etc. that you need to be prepared to produce an original.

you wanna know the truth? i ddin't provide proof because i didn't expect i needed to.. so i left the folder with the originals on my sister's computer instead of transferring them to mine for safe keeping.. she asked me if i was done using them (because they take up space unedited) and i said i was. so she deleted them.. I explained this to whoever the hell sent me the messages demanding proof, but they don't give a shit anyway.. its not like i was in a position where it would matter.. a score of 3.2 is probably in the 5th percentile if that..

and no, i don't feel good.. i am genuinely very disgusted with the admins here.

From the rules:

Disqualification: If the validity of your submitted photograph comes into question, you may be asked to submit your original, unmodified photograph...

All it takes is one person unable to figure out how you spraypainted word "slut" over her...

All it would have taken for my photo not to be disqualified is an admin with an iq above 100.. If you can't provide proof, it asks you to contact them immediately.. so I did. You would think they might be at least somewhat understanding... bastards.

'asshats' now there's a noun I should insert in my vocabulary..I was growing ever so weary of Assclown and Dumbass. I remember the pic, and I remember giving it probably more thought than I'd ever given another photo. I can't remember what I ultimately decided apon, but I made a mental note "too risque for the ma-and-pa operation of DPC" even though I liked it....admittedly I wasn't sure what Rusted Steel Slut meant. And by not sure, I mean I had no clue. Whatever statement you were making went right over my head and NOT because I thought it was inappropriate...I just plum didn't get it...now where's that turnip truck???...*looks around*...

like you mentioned in your opening statement, there's a lot of shite to go through so right now, forgive my memory, for not drawing up your exact image. Want to take a sec to explain your photo? If for no other reason that I'm just curious. Alot of people think if a photo needs explanation than you've failed miserably, when really, a lot of great photos, like great songs, are enhanced by an explanation.

Now now kids, two bad-mouthers don't cancel each other out. And the rules do say if you can't produce proof of origin and you think the pic might be up for a DQ, then to email the admin. Sure Miah is more than a tad vulgar and probably needs a good dose of Ritlin, however, his point is pretty valid.

I wasn't disqualified for any lack of explaination, and I don't feel like getting into it. I prefer to let the photograph speak for itself, and if people don't get it, that's fine.. i didn't take it for them anyway.

Wow, a fast moving topic. I think you may have rustled a few feathers here (texture). Imho even if 1 person requests a dq and the pic is to all extents and purposes valid, you still need to provide proof if requested. Maybe all ps'ers will leave their originals at their sisters if thats a valid reason for not coming up with the goods?
