Looks like a decent deal at $49.99 (US) and better than the $18 wally world special I have been using up to now.

Very cool! I just bought one of these, along with a Manfrotto 234RC Monopod Head Quick Release from Amazon.
Our photo group is going to visit a museum in April that forbits tripods. Has anyone had experience with bringing monopods to places that dont allow tripods? |

I would suggest calling ahead and making sure they will allow you to take a monopod in. Most places that do not allow tripods will allow monopods. The main purpose of banning the tripods is general safety so no one trips over the legs and gets injuried. It is still a good idea to find out in advance if monopods are allowed.
