I won't claim to have invented this idea. I actually stole it from a pro shooter who travels extensively every year and is regularly shooting alongside many other photographers. He uses Flamingo Pink to mark his equipment. I just found out I will be traveling to New York soon to shoot a very large event, so decided to mark my gear in a way that will stand out and be easily identified. I think it will be helpful during wedding season too.
Besides my gear, I also marked with the same yellow; my camera bags, luggage, cords, chargers, etc. I love it so much. Its a cheerful color and just makes me smile when I open the camera bag. :)
Sorry the image is crappy, I shot it with my cell. :D

That's a good idea actually. Looks good too.

I would seriously hesitate to do this to any expensive piece of gear I would ever consider trading or selling down the line.
Also, I'd be reluctant to be in a situation with so much equipment that I'd need to mark it like that to keep track of it.
YMMV.....

This looks like a good idea for shooting with a group of photographers, so that you can ID your gear. You may want to take off the tape as soon as you return home to your regular routine, so that it will not leave stickum on everything later.
Two more suggestions; 1, If you tape all of the stuff together, you can keep up with all of it very easily. 2, Don't forget to tape the kids. : )

| Another possible hazard, your color scheme may attract bees/hornets/wasps, wanting to mate with your gear. |

LOL I didn't think about the possible bee invasion. That might be an issue.
I did however think about: sticky residue (goo gone will take care of that), harming expensive gear (I only put the tape on areas that would be cleanable with the goo gone), and taping my kids to identify them... yes, I did actually consider it. Well... I just got so excited taping things! :D

Bump for the daytime crowd,
Anyone have additional ideas or input?
If you use reflector tape, it will make it safer for you to do street photography at night, plus, you can find your gear with a flashlight at night when you get mad and throw it off into the bushes.
