Gasp! I finally get to post something here!
(This is almost like meeting a celebrity)
I've stalked this website for a good 3 years now. (Yes, yes. I know all about your water droplets, Topazes and watermarks!)
I usually look at this site when I'm on a lunch break at work, so it's helpful that I found such an interesting site that is still "work related" (I work at a camera store).
I'm glad to have finally signed up and look forward to vote (and comment) in challenges and maybe..just maybe..get the guts to enter one.
It's nice to meet every single one of you and I look forward to our future conversations!

(I got a reply! How exciting! It's like ya'll just signed my autograph book)
Working in a camera store is definitely fun! (If you take away the mean customers)
I get to play with the major brands (Pentax, Sony, Oly, Nikon and Canon) and all their super cool lenses too.
Which means I have the meanest case of LBA you've ever seen :) |

I too am jealous of your job. Does your store do rentals? My local camera store does and I always thought the employees are so lucky that they get to play with the equipment (when it isn't checked out by a customer) and go play on their day off. Do enter a challenge and have a lot of fun - as you know from your stalking - this is a very nice group of photogs. |

Hi M V, I hope that you will be entering some of the challenges soon, so we can see how you shoot. In any case, learn much, and enjoy yourself here.

Might I suggest trying to enter competitions with as many different cameras as possible? That would be pretty cool. |

Welcome to the nuthouse. You'll learn if you don't go crazy first. Or, like most of us, it'll be a gradual slide towards talented insanity!......8>)

Hm.. I was trying to do a quote from Cory but I can't seem to figure it out. I'll look around, maybe there's a post on it already.
In any case!
"Might I suggest trying to enter competitions with as many different cameras as possible? That would be pretty cool."
That would indeed be super cool! I haven't thought of doing that and it would be interesting to see how my "photographic eye" (heh) would be interpreted through different cameras. Part of me thinks it would all end up looking the same, but I love doing comparisons and the idea sounds challenging. Especially when you start factoring in the different menu systems of each camera. Oh my.

We do get to play on our days off! To try different things, I mostly make use of the Pentax lenses we have on the shelves. And I might've played with the K7 before..just a little (ok a lot). It's neat to be the first on the block to get our hands on the newest cameras and accessories :)
