yup, but I am really surprised that it's a love it or hate it shot. But over night: 10 votes averaging 6.7, and the two 3s this morning. Usually it's the edgier shots that are that divisive.

There are trolls out for sure. Or perhaps yolks that think 1, 2, & 3 are for first, second, and third. One guy who commented on mine said it made them hungry and when I viewed their profile 127 votes cast, no challenges entered and avg vote 1.97. I'm gonna pretend he thinks it's first, second and third.

I can't stand people like that. There really is no need for those type of voters.

oh my goodness. There is a pic that I commented on that I said made me hungry...but I made a good comment...and I trust its not my profile..so Erin...hope its not my comment you are refering to
PS. And this challenge really has me freaked out and mad at voters. This is where I really wish people who give low votes could be civil enough and explain and be constructive in their voting. I just signed up with another site today where if you give a vote below 5..you cannot do so unless you comment on the pic. cant DPC site people do the same? This will be the single most helpfull thing in any photographers life to impove their skills.

It wasn't you Rian. Sadly, someone could still say - "yum, makes me hungry" and vote you a 2. Requiring a sub-5 comment doesn't come with a filter on whether it was helpful or fitting of their score. |

when they decide to give such low scores, why can't they leave comments so that I will know atleast what is going through the voters mind.

That would basically change the voting scale from 1-10 to 5-10. Has been discussed a few times. |

| You have to take the good with the bad. Some people may vote a 9 or 10 unnecessarily, while others a 1 or 2. The only unfortunate part is that there are not as many trolls voting up as they are voting down so it skews the bad. A lot of photos don't deserve the 10's they get - imagine if Langdon put in place a filter that only let the score deviate 3 points against the average but it applied in both directions, up and down. Imagine the uproar over losing those couple 10's. Would you be willing to give those up to insure that you don't have the troll 1's and 2's? |

You also get people who give the best photo of the bunch a 10 for first place, a 9 for second place, etc... instead of just rating the photo itself. |
