Can you control multiple flashes independantly using this system, eg if I wanted to use TTL + 2stops for one flash and TTL - 1stop for another flash like you can using the st-e2?

bounce ... or am I better off using the st-e2 with radiopoppers? ... or another solution?

You can actually mount your ST-E2 or 580EX on top of the MiniTT1 and control the flashes as you have in the past. The MiniTT1 intercepts the digital communications and interacts with the other flashes via radio waves instead of IR. You can also use just the MiniTT1 and control flashes on one channel. Or... since the MiniTT1 sends both the ETTL and traditional pocketwizard signals, you could conceivably have some flashes trigger in manual mode while some use the ETTL signal.

Pocketwizard is also developing a AC3 ZoneController that allows you to control three channels manually from the flash. Last I heard was an April target.
