Leslie Gulch

First peek at Leslie Gulch in The Owyhee. I'm at the beginnings of a long term photographic study of The Owyhee.

Over time I will be adding much more to the study of this region found in the remote three state border areas of SE Oregon, SW Idaho and northern Nevada.

The Owyhee ranges west from Steens Mountain in SE Oregon east to Bruneau Canyon in Idaho. It is bordered on the north by the Snake River and on the south by the Jarbidge Mountains and Black Rock Desert(famous home of the Burning Man Festival) in northern Nevada. It encompasses a vast area of mostly roadless and sparsely populated territory primarily in the Owyhee River drainage. It is one of the most remote regions in the continental United States.

Looks like an incredible area. I'm really enjoying the series so far- wish I could visit it.

Nice shooting. That place looks very arid, and is still very beautiful. You've done a fine job with the sky in the images.
