Help ? I have some wedding shoots coming up, I need a great printer. That will print quality portraits. But, it caught me at a bad time. Mine just went out minutes ago. I thought about looking into one that will print 11 x 14 Portraits. Can anyone help me, I am panicking and stressing out. I am on a budget, but I want quality. So I am willing to spend around $200 - $300. Business is not doing good right now, thanks to the economy. But, it's fixing to pick up I am getting phone calls. I am not a pro, but I want my clients to be happy. No more than what I charge, I have to print out my own photographs. Can't afford to pay a company to do it for me right now.

You can find new Canon PixmaPro 9000 printers on eBay within $200-300 (maybe even less if you're lucky). Awesome printer.

Bear in mind that ANY photo printer will cost you more in ink and paper than sending out to a decent lab.

Epson R1800 or R1900, both used.

Does it matter if it prints with pigments or dyes? If you're willing to go with dyes the Epson 1400 was on sale at B&H for $177 ($125 off regular price). That sale ended today, but you could call them up and see if they could match the sale price. Excellent reviews re print quality but gobbles ink. Think CISS for long term ink savings once you get back on your feet financially.
ETA: $199 new for the 1400 directly from Epson HERE. Or get it refurbished for $159 from HERE.

One vote for Scalverts suggestion. I just picked up the Pixma Pro 9500 and it is an awesome printer, also agree about cost of ink. However Canon Ink Cartridges are for the most part a bit cheaper than their HP and Epson Counterparts.
