I have an st-e2 infrared transmitter on my 7d and two 580 exII set as slaves, one in group A and one in group B

They were working perfectly for a while then they started firing at different times, one flash fired about one second after the first!

I replaced the batteries in both flashes, swapped the position of the flashes, both were around 1m away with perfect line of sight to the st-e2 but still didn't work correctly.

I went back and had another look a little while later and they started working perfectly again!!!

So I don't think it was a fault, I can only assume I've set something strange ... anyone got any ideas?? I've checked the manual and nothing obvious jumped out...

Sounds like one flash has been set at rear sync but can you even do that when using remotely??
