I just recently got a new compter and I cant for the life of me figure out how to resize my image. I am working with an HP so if there is anyone out there that could do a simple outline for me to follow I would much appreciate it! All I want to do is enter a challenge for this week! Haha!
Thanks!

What software are you using? That's going to make all the difference.

What ever cam stock with the computer. I can see each image on Windows photo gallery. I have not downloaded any photo editing programs yet.

Where's that list of yours, Spiffy?!

I'd look to whatever came stock with your camera rather than whatever came with your computer. Most image viewers don't have the capability that I'm aware of.

If it is what came stock with your computer, then all you have is a viewer and (*shudder*) MS Paint. The new version of Paint that comes with Win7 and Vista is better than what preceded it.

I did not get any type of software with my camera. :( It has been a while sense I used anything other than mac for this type of stuff so I am a bit rusty. Sorry for all this, I wish I didn't have to ask. Haha!

Freebie imaging software: the big list

As far as the freebies go, I like Paint.net, but there are also a lot of people who swear by Gimp.

I just looked at the version of MS Paint that is on my netbook with Win7, and this newer version does have the ability to resize an image to specific pixel dimensions, but I can find no facility to adjust compression to meet a needed file size. Paint.net or Gimp will be your best bet for a quick solution.

Happened to have a screenshot in my portfolio of the JPG file save dialog in Paint.net
