I grew up in South Africa ( I lived there from my 4th year and left in 2001) and the country is deeply ingrained in my soul. That is part of the reason that I love the work of Roger Ballin. "The art of Roger Ballen is impossible to forget. It goes deep."

I'm a huge admirer of Roger Ballen, particularly his more recent photography with its weird unsettling fetishes and disturbing dream like imagery. It sometimes seems like a more psychological form of social photography in a way. Amazing photographer.

Thanks for the link; I didn't know his name but I'd seen some of his photographs.
