Actually I don't keep up with who is first, who is doing what, none of that pays my bills when I click the shutter. What does is having equipment that works and gets me the shots that I need. Honestly for most things that requires either Canon or Nikon. I haven't seen any manufacturer keep up with ISO improvements in the areas I shoot on a daily basis. 6400ISO and up. I really don't care for the quirky stuff people complain about. I do agree that more MP isn't always the answer. in fact I'd prefer 3-4 less MP on my 1DMKIV as I think it would make the already clean high ISO images just a bit better. But every manufacturer has their issues and short comings. I just prefer not to dwell on them and use my equipment to its fullest potential to put $$$ in the bank.
taken today ISO 8000 :D

I have seen some pretty nasty reviews on canon's own website about the softness issue... that's definately an issue for me as I would like things to be super sharp... ugh. Somebody said their camera overheats during video too... not good for me. Now to find a high def video camera with enough megapixels to be able to enlarge nicely... if canon could just get that softness (and overheating) issue straightened out the decision would be so easy :) :bang head:
Guess i could wait till the reviews come out for that new camera they have though... wonder if they'll let u try it out first, lol! It seems inexpensive for what you get included in it... but that worries me just as much as it excites me :P |

i think none of the cameras in 14mp or above are supersharp except for pentax k7. And that is becuase k7 does not apply much noise reduction and thus not a high iso camera. If detail at lower isos is what someone wants k7 is best bet in APCs.
