I guess I meant to say "I need your expert advice"

I was digging in my junk corner of the bedroom where all my crap piles up and found this little telescope that my wife picked up for me a couple years ago. Its a cheap, basic Vivitar telescope that you can get at the local drug store for $20. I was wondering if there was anyway to turn this baby into a lens for my camera. The telescope does pretty good when looking at the moon. Anyones expert advice would be appreciated.

Oh wow, thanks. The wife was walking by looking hot so I was a little distracted.

Some telescopes allow for a T-mount adapter that will let you mount the camera directly to the scope and use it as a lens. You will lose AF and any aperture info.

If that's not the case here, you can use something like this to mount the camera to the scope and shoot through the eyepiece. You may get vignetting though.

The answer is yes... and no. A T-adapter will couple the telescope to your camera,. However, the scope is likely at least f/10 , so the image will be dim, autofocus probably won't work, and you can forget about action shots because of the extremely slow lens. Don't expect Zeiss quality either.

Best I can do is the trip to walmart a few weeks ago. I was trying to find her after she wondered off and found her showing off one of the reasons I married her ;)

I was wanting to try and get a better shot of the moon than what my current lens and empty wallet will allow. I figured action shots would be out of the question. I may try a t-mount and see what happens. The telescope is actually lighter than my lens but I would still keep it supported anyway.

Yeah Im not expecting much out of this. Just one of many weird random thoughts that pass through my head and figured the people here at DPC would be the best to ask.

That reminds me of a challenge suggestion that Kawesttex made the other day. His suggestion was "Rear".

That would make an awesome challenge. Something I could possibly score in the top 10 with.

Word to the wise: Even though was posted with love and affection ... If Kelly sees it, you're SO DEAD. Attractive young women, in my experience, don't like pictures taken from this angle. And if she asks, "Do these jeans make my butt look fat?" There is ONLY one correct answer.

Now back to the thread.

She hit me in the arm pretty good when she turned around and saw I had my phone out. But she is the sweetest most caring woman I have ever met. Im a lucky man to have her in my life.

The answer is: "Sweetheart, they make your butt look shapely and attractive."
