But then I don't keep up with much modern music anymore. |

lol, Rush was Modern in the 1980's Now they are in the Classic Category.
Ref: OP, Although I am a huge Rush Fan. I think the best band to ever come out of Canada was April Wine. Triumph was pretty good too back in the day. But April Wine was and still is my favorite Canadian Band. Rush comes in a close 2nd place though.

Understood. I should have been more open minded in my OP of "best". How about just..."my favorite"?
How about the more inclusive "Canadian Musicians"?

No need to be more open minded, you are entitled to your own choice of who you think is best. in fact I am sure there are more people who would side with you on this vs my choice. I am just a big April Wine fan.

Wouldn't Rush have to be a Speed Challenge? |

April Wine was awesome, too. Their version of "21st Century Schizoid Man" was the best I've ever heard. I still have the "Harder Faster" album. The whole album's great.
"Blinding Light Show" by Triumph is one of my all-time faves. (Along with American Girls)
