It's $25/head. If there is extra at the end (we would need 15 people) then we would get a little back.

I am really sorry for canceling at the last minute. I am still willing to chip in my share for the workshop as I can understand cancellations like these for a community event during last minute can add up cost for others attending!

:(

We'll miss you, vikas

I actually thought the turnout would be better than what it is. I even tried to recruit a few people and they weren't interested. I mean, what could be better than have 10+ people with the same interests getting together to develop some skills.

Does any of the attending, know some people we can recruit?

TonyT.

I'm a bit disappointed myself. I know that life happens and some folks had to drop out, but I had hoped there'd be more initial interest to start with. Oh well, folks are going to miss out, because we are going to have a great time on Saturday!

The good news is, there should be plenty of models to go around!

I do know a few people that want to attend, but they are noncommittal. I will mention it another time to them to see if they come around. I hoped to get 15 total to keep the cost down to $20 per person. I want to convince them to come without sounding like a salesman or a pain in the neck.

If this goes half as well as I hope it does then we will be able to post some awesome pictures, and who knows, then maybe we can do it again.

3.5 more days.

That's what I'm banking on - we get some incredible work and next year they'll be fighting for a seat :-)

Hopefully, I'm bringin' another DPCer with......

He's a friend, shooting partner, and one of the best portrait shooters I've seen.

I'm just crossing my fingers he'll come along.

OK Jeb you talked me into it.
Who do I pay?

I would like to attend this group meet. I'm not sure what I may bring, but most prob
just a speedlight or two and a reflector.

See ya there

That's awesome. I am still trying to convince some people also.

The contract with the hotel is in my name. They didn't make me pay yet, but they have my credit card. I am hoping to collect the cash on Saturday morning from the attendees and pay them in cash instead of having a charge. We settled on $25 per person. I reserved breakfast for 15 people. It's not a fancy breakfast...more like bagels, coffee, danishes, OJ.

Lunch is on our own.

I think I have another one, with a slight catch. They are a couple, won't stay the whole day, and they only have 1 camera. Only one of them is a member of DPC, but not really active. I told them to both come, but only pay for 1. If anyone is upset, I will eat the cost of the other one myself.

Edit: I will know for sure tomorrow morning.

I'd really prefer one of those lovely, blue-eyed, porcelain skinned, raven tressed Romanians!

Rob and I are still working on another guy. He's a good guy, very keen eye and has a little studio lighting experience--slightly tough to get him to nail down a date though, but we're tryin'.

So, hopefully he'll come along. We'll know later today. Can't wait to hang tomorrow!

Well, I needed to give a number for breakfast, so I said 15. I am hopeful of the extra turnouts but if we don't get that many, then I will just have to eat all of the extra breakfasts myself. It's not like it's anything fancy or anything.

One more day. And I should know soon if that couple is coming or not.

They are coming. Like I said, they are coming, but they will pay for the extra breakfast if they can get there that early. One is a member here.

It appears that we'll be leaving the area @ 6:30ish, so we should make breaakfast after all.

I'm here -- let the party begin! In case anyone else happens to be here at the hotel and gets this message... Tony is coming over shortly, and we're going to go out for a bite to eat. I had sent my cell # to everyone previously... give me a call if you'd like to join us. Or just send me a PM. Or yell up the stairs. Or something. :)

Does anyone who's actually at the hotel have GPS coordinates for it? Google Maps shows the hotel as being in the middle of Lake Harmony, and I don't really feel like swimming tomorrow :-)

Yeah.....I noticed that, too.

I figured I'd just beat feet that way, and when I got close, call the hotel and ask where they are!

Lacking coordinates, that's what I'll be doing too - getting close and then hoping I take a lucky turn (it's a big hotel, how hard can it really be to find?).

I'll either find it easily, or end up in New Jersey.
