Press photographer of the year in Norway was Hans Arne Vedlog. This entry was the chosen winner out of over 3000 entries. The comments from the jury was that "Obama is currently one the world's most photographed men, but this picture of Michelle's knees, the president logo and his face is the one everyone remember".
Great job!

| This is image of the year??? I think I've seen hundreds of better photos this year for sure. I'm getting sick and tired of Obama images being put to the forefront just because it's, well, Obama. I can understand that in other parts of the world he is still seen as some saviour but all in all he's just another politician. |

I really don't think it's about Obama Jac but rather a picture that tells a thousand words and that captured the essence of the situation. Which to me is a big challenge. It may be a surprise to many photogs at DPC why the pic of the year wasn't a water droplet, tree frog or a way over-topazed barn. But keep in mind that this was the winner for the best press pic (and also category 'humans') and not graphical art or stock photography as you see a lot of here. |

Think this is only the Norwegian press best photgog of the year, not the wolrd's best press photog of the year
