I'm planning a photoshoot with two (female) models soon. I'm pretty sure we all have the same idea about the kind of picture, but I tried to google some sample pictures, just to be sure. But I couldn't find anything.

I'm looking for pictures of a trashy/junky/grunge/post-apocalptic kind of mood. Fishnet shirts, torn clothes, drugs lying all around, dark make-up....

do any of you have any idea where I could find some pictures like that to show the models what I'm looking for?

thanks for your help

Suicide Girls perhaps? Might be a good idea to search around for that sort of thing.

I would personally set your sights higher than suicide girls. Their stuff pretty much sucks as a general rule.

When trying to describe a vision to models, you could use other reference material like movies or TV shows that they may have seen, or even adverts can sometimes work. I once had a shoot where I told a model I wanted the lighting to be like Aliens when Ripley is going back for newt so hard, strobey, uplighting. She got what I was saying :)

It seems you already have your idea fleshed out. Can't you sketch it out a bit on some paper? Even a birds eye view? Or don't be so literal and describe the concept, the story behind it instead of the immediate scene so the models know the angle you're coming from.

That is true to be honest. From what i've seen it has been pretty bad but it's a start.

Excellent advice to look at Film, Tv and also Cd covers etc. I really don't have any experience in this area but a lot of my influences for the photography i like to do comes from film, and books. Really, apart from the technical stuff that a model shoot might entail the only thing you have to go with is your imagination.

I remember seeing this on Deviant; it seems kind of like what you are describing.
