Saw this lens for sale, wondering if anyone knows about it. I searched Canon's site and came up with nothing. Same applied in google. The lens is a constant f4, with USM and black in colour.
Is this thing any good? The buyer claims L series performance. ??? Apparently from Japan... Any info on performance, would be appreciated. Thanks all.... |

well, all Canon lenses are from japan so that doesn't help.
Canon don't make a non L 70-200 F/4 with USM with an EF mounting. They only make the 70-200 F/4 L with or without IS, which you already know.
All I could find was an FD 70-200 f/4, or a 70-210 f/4. Maybe he had one converted to EF fitting? It wouldn't be the first i'd heard of such a thing happening.
Ask for pics. |

The thing of it is, he's claiming "USM" on this lens, and USM came along at the same time as the EF mounts, so this makes no sense: Canon never made a 70-200mm F4 USM lens that is not L... As far as I can figure out anyway.
