Is a bench considered a chair for this challenge?

Would a stool be considered DNMC?

Is a sofa technically a chair? A recliner?

Thought I would start something because this challenge topic needs it. ;\

All in jest people, all in jest. :)

What about someone who heads up a meeting?

He/she is "The Chair".

A chair is a raised surface used to sit on, commonly for use by one person. Chairs often have the seat raised above floor level, supported by four legs. A chair without a back or arm rests is a stool, or when raised up, a bar stool. A chair with arms is an armchair and with folding action and inclining footrest, a recliner. A permanently fixed chair in a train or theater is a seat or airline seat; when riding, it is a saddle and bicycle saddle, and for an automobile, a car seat or infant car seat. With wheels it is a wheelchair and when hung from above, a swing.

The design may be made of porous materials, or be drilled with holes for decoration; a low back or gaps can provide ventilation. The back may extend above the height of the occupant's head, which can optionally contain a headrest.

A chair for more than one person is a couch, sofa, settee, or "loveseat"; or a bench. A separate footrest for a chair is known as an ottoman, hassock or pouffe

Who knew? I thought a chair was just a chair. :)

^^^ im not sure people should be that anal though, otherwise there would be less variety. i think for the sake of the challenge all those should count as a chair. (my shot falls under the above catagory haha)

My description is pretty loose, If my ass fits on it and my back is bent 90% it is a chair.. I am sure others will be a little more picky.

Yeah, but it has a *seat* and, based on the earlier quoted passages, a *seat* qualifies as a *chair* :-)

You're back is bent at 90% when you sit? oww... that's so uncomfortable! I usually just bend at the hips and sit up straight.

I meant 90 degrees, yikes 90% is a bit of a stretch for me. My belly would never allow it. lol

It will be interesting to see how far people will push the limits on this one. I am certain I will meet the challenge because I am using a chair. 4 legs a back rest and a rump holder.

Pants have a seat. Counties have seats. Seals nurse their young with their seats.

I have a possible entry done, I wonder how relentless the voters will be if only part of a chair is visible in it?

In my humble opinion, it would depend on how prominent the other objects, or the surrounding scene, dominate over the chair.

Have you ever wondered what a chair would look like if our knees bent the other way?

I do......every day, 'cause it's where I work. But then I'd have to go down to the fire hall, borrow the chairs, come back, set 'em all up in the three service bays where three mechanics work, and the light'd have to be right again.....

Oh dear, that's a lot of work. How about making it a one chair study?

For some reason I keep think Madonna when I try to think of a good chair shot...
