Hey all,
Sadly, my recent entry in the Still Life with Fruit challenge was disqualified due to being shot outside the challenge times. It was one of those cases where, yes, I had shot my entry after the challenge was announced but the EXIF info didn't support it. Sure enough, I checked the date on my camera and it was set back by a whole year. I periodically check my date/time to make sure its correct but unfortunately I hadn't done it for a while so I got my just desserts.
So rather than whine/complain about the DQ I decided I should get to the bottom of this and see if anyone else has seen where there date or time on their camera has changed on them without any intervention. I saw a glitch before Christmas where I got a strange error on my top readout and I could not shoot at all. Is there something larger I need to be concerned about? |

| I had that happen with a point and shoot. I think it was some sort of electrical fault (short maybe?) which caused all the settings to go back to the factory defaults. I still use the camera (it was converted to shoot in infrared) and it has so far not happened again. |

I hope its not a short. And this just changed the date. I've had it happen before but it was only by a day and I noticed it in time to change it before I took a schwack load of pictures. As far as I can tell it happened after I formatted my card. I almost have to wonder if its a glitchy card. |
