Some of my favorite photography websites are the ones using services such as livebooks or viewbook. The images are large and clearly dominate the presentation. Words are usually kept to an absolute minimum. Despite how much I enjoy viewing photography sites with these slick presentation, I'm curious how affective they are for a small photography business. First, with fewer words and a flash presentation I'm sure it's harder to get good indexing on google. I know both of the companies I mentioned generate HTML presentations for web crawlers, but I don't know if there are captions for each gallery and image to help with indexing. And second, there is no real call to action that might suggest a viewer take the next step and hire the photographer.

So my question is, how many words to we need on a photography site representing a photography business?
