I had to reinstall PSP X2 this past week. My workflow is more or less as follows:

- open IMAGE.TIFF file (from RAW) in PSP
- make edits
- Save As (F12) IMAGE_1.TIFF

Before, the EXIF information was passed to and preserved in the new TIFF file. Now, I'm getting a message when I "Save As":

"Because of the limitations of the specified file format (and possibly the save options you've selected), no EXIF information will be saved."

Huh?!

Okay, apparently at some point in my PC's prior life, these "options" were set such that EXIF was passed to new files.

Any ideas?

(I'm counting on you especially, Steve. No pressure, of course...)

Seems that is a bug.

No resolution in that thread.

I've been looking for the last 5 minutes or so with an image file in PSP X2 and I can duplicate your scenario, but cannot find a way around it either. I usually do a save-as to a .pspimage file from TIFF.

Hah. It just did a save-as from 16-bit TIFF when I selected uncompressed in the options (save-as dialog).

ETA - previously I was trying to save-as another TIFF with LZW compression selected.
ETA_1 - and yes, the EXIF is saved in the new file.

Thank you, Barry! I switched the compression option to Uncompressed. That got me past the message and EXIF is saved in the new file. Also, the file size is omparable to what I was getting before, so that must have been what I had done (though I don't remember doing it).

Thanks also, Collette. I stumbled over that same thread before I posted here. I wonder if LZW Compression doesn't support EXIF (or PSP's implementation of it doesn't, which is more likely).

(Never mind, Steve.)
