Lens came it from BHcameravideo.com.

Here are two snapshots.

Goose was taken on the way home. It was raining at dusk. He was about 10 feet away. Full SB800 flash at 200 ISO.

Poodle was on the chair when I got home. Bounce off celing. 200 ISO.

Both are directly out of the camera. Both cropped at about 60%.

Here's a short video of what I did to pay for this baby. Four 10 hour days changing filters in a clean room. I'm not in the vid...I'm the cameraman. While you're there, check out my version of "pants on the ground".

Hey Ken, looks like you got a hell of a sharp lens. I've been thinking of trading in my 17-55 for the 24-70. Congrats on the new lens!.

You have no idea how incredibly jealous I am of your right now. I have been looking at that lens for months, and it will be months still before I can afford mine.... argh!

Oh... and congrats, is a beautiful piece of glass ;)

LOL...thanks...it was a lot of hard work for two weekends in a row(not my regular job) that enabled me to get this lens. I have my first paid photog gig coming up in March and really wanted a pro lens.

congratulations...

is a great, great lens, also on DX format even if is not too wide!

i've used this lens for my reportage from Spain, Sevilla (you can see the link here on the forum SEVILLA), great results, setting aside the ability of the photographer.

i'm happy for you...

Have to stick to the 16-85 and 70-200 at the moment
Cant get 2 X $2000+ lenses as the same time. That is asking a bit much from the wife

Worked two weekends in a row to pay for this lens. I need it for my first paid gig in March.

Im trying to do just that... I took on a couple tutoring gigs to get some extra cash... but at only an hour a week, it would take me months before I can get that kind of cash. Oh well... back to the lottery strategy :)

Take a look at the Vid in my OP. I changed 40lb filters 40 feet in the air in a cleanroom. The job was 60 miles from my house and I had to drive there at 6am...but I got the lens.

Here's another test shot. I can't wait to get out and take some real shots where I can take my time.
