I am currently using the LCD monitor: Philips 150S6

I am about to buy a new monitor since existing monitor is too small for my work especially post processing my images. I was looking for IPS or e-IPS monitor. Considering the budget limitation I have finalised Dell 2209WA (300$). But unfortunately this monitor doesn't have HDMI interface which I may need in future.

Another monitor in the same price range is SP2309W (319$).It's having all the connectivity & good resolution but it's a TN panel.

I am confused for choosing the monitor between these too. Do you anybody knows another monitor in this price range with IPS & HDMI? Is IPS is must feature for the photographers? Is anybody using SP2309W? How is your experience with it?

Thanks for the fast reply. Actually I was impressed by the specs & features of SP2309W. Especially like resolution : Higher than FULL HD 2048 X 1152 at 60 Hz.

I have not used IPS monitor yet so I don't know how much it can help in post processing the images? Did you need separate calibration tools for 2209WA?

I'm vey happy of my HP2275W, S-PVA panel, once calibrated is very very good... is not too expensive I think (in Italy about 450 €)

No i did a search to find the best settings. It was a bit off when i got it, so bright it nearly burnt my retinas.
The viewing angles and colour are excellent being an ips monitor.
