I have spent a lot of time writing my own custom web site, but it always seems like I have more to do and that takes time away from photography. I've been using Zenfolio for online proofing and they just released some major enhancements. I spent a couple of hours configuring my site and now I'm wondering if it looks professional enough to use my main site so I can turn my attention to making images rather than writing code. At only $100 a year it a bargain and just might do the trick until I can justify something even better, livebooks or viewbook.

If you have a minute, please take a look and offer an option.

Thanks!
~ Dave

Update: I made the decision to use Zenfolio in place of my custom site. I've removed the link my old site since it no longer works. Thanks for offering your opinions, they were a great help.

Yep... Go for it... Your custom site is nice, but doesn't have any more (and arguably less) impact than the zenfolio.

There, now you have my $.02 - Don't spend it all in one place.

BTW: Best custom site I've ever seen:
//www.thevegavision.com/#

Of course he's at a point where he no longer needs to attract clients, so his website is able to be a little different. Damn sharp in my opinion though.

I met Omar at a party, really nice guy...

Thanks for the reply and the link. After browsing Omar's site I took a quick look at Joey L's updated site and it blows me away. I love the almost immersive quality of the high quality flash based sites. The navigation is sometimes confusing, but having the huge images fill the window and glide smoothly in an out is a wonderful experience. I even enjoying watching the entry page for the best camera website as new images quietly flip into place. But, I'm not generating enough revenue to cover such an investment right now and the reasonably prices flash templates done meet my expectations. So I'm wonder if this zenfolio site is professional enough to get by for a year while I focus on the photography and then I'll revisit the whole debate again next winter.

Thanks again!
