I've noticed when viewing photos I've taken of fences and wires, pixels seem to be missing until I enlarge the photo on my screen. Can anyone tell me how I can correct this?

Maybe the wires actually look like that : )

It has to do with the resolution numbers of your computer screen, and the number of pixels in the image on the screen. If the two numbers are close but not a multiple of each other, then there will be some pixels that don't get represented in a line, like a wire in the image for instance, that is only a couple of pixels wide. It's not so noticeable where there is a solid area in the shot.
I have noticed that effect too. It's sort of like interference patterns where waves with different periods intersect.
A simple example would be an area where there are 10 pixels of screen definition per inch, and you are viewing the image at 9 pixels per inch. In this case, there would be one place in ten where there would be no pixel in the image at that size. When you increase or decrease the viewing size of the image, the ratios change. It's most noticeable on my monitor when the line is slightly diagonal.
I don't think you can do much about it, except maybe get a big enough screen to view images at full size all the time.

Where can I get a 15MP screen??(or a 10.2MP in the case of the OP)... You know I would really love that.. Of course the highest commonly available is 1920X1080(HD)- that's just a hair over 2MP... The actual number of pixels doesn't change from a 19"HD to a 72"HD, the only difference is the size of each pixel..

Really is a shame you can't buy a really high MP monitor yet..

Thanks guys for your help. Now I understand. I have a few recent shots I want to enter in challenges and I was worried about this occuring when I save for web. The voters would cream me!!

Resizing is a different matter.. Depending on the method, details such as wire can be saved - however - keep in mind this will sometimes give an odd look to the photo, and moreover, the super-detailed-would-look-good-as-a-poster type image doesn't seem to work very well here on DPC because of the size limitations.

Hope this helped.
