		| | I have been looking into buying the Canon 300 D or the 10D for some time now. One thing I notice when I look at the cheaper offers on the internet - especially in the US - is that when I read users comments on example price grabber or pricerunner on why these cameras are so "cheap", the answer seems to be "no US Warranty" - well being from Europe, that might actually not be a negative thing... 
 Any ideas if these cameras have a warranty from the Far East or Europe or such?
 
 Friends are trying to get me come along for a weekend shopping tour to the Big Apple later this year - with the relative low value of the dollar, the trip and the shopping will still amount to less money, compared if I buy any of the models I've been thinking of here at home. I will actually save money (at least that is what I tell my wife).

		| | i think if you were to buy a legimate US model of the Rebel you would have no warranty at home... they are manufacturing different models for different parts of the world. 
 not sure about the 10d though

 The low priced products you mentioned are probably Gray Market items. They may actually have a warranty from the seller rather than the manufacturer. Check out this FAQ from B&H Photo... About USA and GREY MARKET (DIRECT IMPORT)

		| | US warranty = world wide carry in repairs if I am not mistaken. 
 The other kind is only 'sent back to shop for repairs' and therefore far worse for an European.
 
 I'd buy the US version.

		| | Azrifel, I've bought 4 US warranty digicams made by 4 different major camera companies.  None of them have carry-in repairs in the US.  What kind of warranty service does a European buyer get if they buy a European warranty camera?  Are you perhaps thinking of an extended warranty backed by a retailer instead of the factory?  We can purchase those here in the US but at extra cost of about 10-20% of the cost of the camera. |

		| | I just purchased a 300D here in New Zealand and it came with a full international warranty, i would say you could purchase an international warranty if one didn't come with the camera.
