ok... I have a macbook and I had an old VGA dell monitor I wanted to use with it a while ago, so I spent $19 on a mini-DVI to VGA plug... worked great... a couple months ago I bought a new 24" DELL monitor to use with my macbook, so I spent another $19 on a Mini-DVI to DVI adapter... ok... fine...
Now, I bought a 27" iMac... and I want to use my old 19" VGA dell monitor with it as a side screen...
stupid apple changed the plug on the iMac from the mini-DVI to a Mini DisplayPort... sooo now they want $34 for a mini DisplayPort to VGA plug...
i'm sick of buying these stupid adapters... is there such thing as a mini DisplayPort to Mini-DVI so that I will be able to use those two plugs I already bought with my new iMac???
let me know,
Thanks!!! |

I don't think you can go that route, but you also don't have to pay $34. This one should work fine for $7.50, and you can probably find Overstock coupons or even cheaper versions.
FWIW, it wasn't "stupid Apple" that changed the plug. The Mini DisplayPort standard was adopted after Mini DVI. |
