any good comparisons between these two lenses?

Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8

Tokina 12-24mm f/4

I have both (well, my bother now has the 12-24...)

aside from the extra stop and zoom range, which preforms better???

I have just the 11-16mm so I can't comment on the 12- 24. I prefer how wide the 11mm wide is along with it being a faster lens. Images are very sharp. The faster speed helps handheld in lower light situations. This would have been much more difficult if not impossible without the faster speed (even with ISO boosted to 400 on it already). It was submitted in a "noise" challenge so that was increased for it. I have less noisy versions but you know what it is capable of.
