Ok, I am officially stressing out now. I don't know what I should do. I have been asked and nominated to be the next camera club president in the area I live in. There are over 100 members and I am one of the youngest in the club. From what I've heard from some members is that the president kind of gets the bum end of the deal on being controlled by some past presidents and gets blamed by certain members.
Then, I have kind of been recruited to run as the State VP of Technology of my Delta Epsilon Chi college organization. In that position I will need to be able to spend some time each week for that. This next year my state may be involved and have stronger ties nationally and it would be an awesome thing to be a part of that. Being in a state officer position I will have more of a broad range of networking with different business that I will be able to do.
I will also be getting my Associates degree this spring and be transferring from my Community College to one of the State Universities. So I will be starting new somewhere and getting things with my school done.
And I also need to find a good full-time job in the next couple months that maybe can lead to a career.
Just sooo stressful. PLUS I WANT A LOT MORE TIME TO GO SHOOTING!!! Check my profile, I haven't entered any challenges in a while and I miss it!

it may be best to pass up the offer for the camera club president. Sure it would be a great experience, but you have a lot going on and something has to give....if you get too stressed and have a break down, what good is that.

your photography will always be with you no matter what.

I would say take the route of the State VP of Technology for your frat, that will more than likely help you in your career later on, and be more beneficial for your "networking" skills.

Either way you decide.....best of luck to you

yeah it would be a ton of work.. you sound very busy. i don't think you are giving anyone the 'short end of the stick' not to be the pres. and it seems that you would probably enjoy photography and the rest of your life if you were NOT the president of the club right now. I have part of a local potters guild, and i know that the president always has a rough time... with people complaining, and wanting this or that, and they have to make decisions, only to make people angry with them.... but then again it is probably good experience, and there would probably be some good parts.

Hey thanks James. I just went on to rant and I guess write my feelings down. I called the guy that has decided to run for State President of DEX and talked with him a bit. It looks like it is going to be a campaign next week because I will be running against someone for VP of Tech. Good thing my wife is a Political Campaign Manager and knows how to run a campaign. She told me all this stuff that I will need to do to walk in knowing I am going to win. I'm going to photoshop me some campaign posters for the position. (Anyone have any great ideas??) I have one idea that invovles a lady with her head in a washing machine.

Now I just have to figure out a way to quietly step down from the camera club president offer.
