The thread is nearly a year old. How about turning it into a challenge? |

Originally posted by MattO: OK so I'm a huge fan of Paul Simon and his music, not so much Simon and Garfunkel though, but either would be OK.
Portray a song, title, album, or line of one of the songs in a photo. Title of your entry the song title.
Alternatively take a photo and represent one of his songs and make a CD cover of it. This could have the extra rule set of adding text.
I'd love to see what some of the DPC members could do with this.

I'm a big Simon ( and even with Garfield) fan. I'd love to see this challenge materialize.

Me three! (Liked him with Garfunkel as well - "Bridge Over Troubled Water" was either the second or third album I ever purchased with my own money.) |

Just as a test, list songs by him that you would use in this challenge. I wonder if he has enough songs to make this challenge interesting.
Kodachrome will be done how many times?
Bridge over troubled waters?
I think this is why this challenge never flew.
We need another Led Zeppelin challenge though. :) |

just the ashes of a bible and a can of kerosene
although The Church is Burning doesn't seem to be in there...
I think it's a very good idea both to run the challenge and then later on for anyone who's up for it to run monthly side challenges with various lyricists... |

If you can't find enough variations in this list, I'm not sure what to tell you. Decades of music choices to use.

I wasn't saying he didn't have a large variety of songs to choose from. I was implying that many people just know the popular tunes and that we'll see mostly those in this challenge. I'm all for it actually. I like PS, more with AG though but that's just me. :)
eta.
After looking through that list I realize now how much of his music I like without Garfunkel.

LAST NIGHT I HAD THE STRANGEST DREAM that ME AND JULIO WHERE DOWN BY THE SCHOOL YARD talking about this challenge idea. He said there must be 50 WAYS to shoot for this. Weâre OLD FRIENDS so I pointed out to him that itâs a digital photo challenge and heâs STILL CRAZY AFTER ALL THESE YEARS to be shooting KODACHROME. He has a CRAZY LOVE for film. But maybe it was time to change.
We always HAVE A GOOD TIME shooting for DPC but it was LATE IN THE EVENING. I think THE SEVEN OâCLOCK NEWS was over by now. We passed a MOST PECULIAR MAN on the park bench and we assumed he is HOMELESS. I realized he was the bum that hangs out around here on BLEAKER STREET but Iâve seen him AT THE ZOO and sleeping under THE 59TH STREET BRIDGE.
âWhatâs your name old man?â I asked.
âYOU CAN CALL ME ALâ, he barked back.
âITâS A HAZY SHADE OF WINTER out here. Are you going to be OK?â
âItâs a little CLOUDY but I AM A ROCK. It wonât bother me. Iâll just think of LEAVES THAT ARE GREEN and pretend THE SUN IS BURNINGâ
Talk about FAKIN IT! I wonder if heâll feel the same way on WEDNESDAY MORNING 3 A.M. and thereâs nothing but THE SOUND OF SILENCE. Heâll think heâs THE ONLY LIVING BOY IN NEW YORK.
