Many great images in here, but in some cases I was distracted from the subject by extreme amounts of pp. And yes, these photos, which otherwise would have got a score of at least 7, only got a 5 or 6.
FWIW, people...Please! No need to gild the lily! Take a good photo in the first place and let it stand on its own merits. Tricking it up with masses of pp frankly makes me look for flaws, as opposed to appreciating the photo itself.
Anyone who takes offense to this post, please PM me instead of turning this into a flame-a-thon.
ETA: Says I rated 89 out of 89 entries...what?! How on earth could I have rated my own shot, which I definitely did not do?

If your entry is the one I think it is, Jeb, then yes, the pp was apparent, but still on the safe side of the fence. But I'm talking where the shot is so topazed/tonemapped/layered/masked to the eyeballs, you see it first, then you notice the photo. It's like a case where the clothes on a model are wearing her, as opposed to her wearing them.
I realize that this site does sometimes reward a generous hand with the pp. On the other hand, all my recent 6s - including the two currently in voting - were pp'd using these steps: Crop, brightness/contrast, saturation, resize, usm, sharpen and/or sharpen edges, save for web. Oh and maybe cloning out minor stuff, hot pixels, sensor dust. I feel my scores have gone up simply because I have been taking more pictures and thus improving. That's it.
ETA: oh yes, sometimes I use shadows/highlights too :-0

It's not quite as high as  ti_evom or NikonJeb's entries, but they both left nice comments, and people with better scores giving "thumbs up" comments are always a good sign.

Mixed reviews on this one (about 50/50 like/dislike), plus one comment about it may be a little derivative. Looking back, I guess they are right. Hopefully they believe that imitation is the best form of flattery like I do :)
I won't say why some don't like it, so I don't give it away. I say that I can see why some don't like it. I had mixed feelings myself before submitting it, just not enough time to redo it.
