is it possible to have a graphic-time representation of the votes received during and after the challenges for overall and for each individual pictures... it is always fun to analyze this kind of data and i think it might be a good addition to this website...it would show how each picture progressed through out the voting.. and it might help better understand the voting patterns that this site experiences... |

Great idea. Think I suggested myself once upon a time...I think...or if I didn't I meant to.

I think it would be interesting!
Along the analysis lines, I'd like something even more though, which I've suggested a month or three ago, and they ignored it (or somehow it was "missed"). I wanted to see Standard Deviations for all averages, which would tell us
1) For a given photo, how much variability there was in people's opinions.
2) For a challenge, how disperse the scores were (e.g., on the history page)
It's the latter that's perhaps the most interesting and important, since you can see some of the variability in the histograms for a given photo.
The calculation of a standard deviation is quite simple, as is the programming in PHP, and would be good to include.
What do you think?

I'd like to see a plot like this.
I plot all of my histograms in this form, it tells so much more. If the (linear) fit is very good, the voting pattern followed a normal distribution; if it is not a good fit, there is something non-normal about the pattern. The standard deviation (assuming normality) is the inverse of the slope of this plot, and the average is the x-intercept (where Z=0).
I know... geeeek!

There is a big long list where all the suggestions go. I think one of the SC even put them into groups as to what kind of suggestions they were. More than being ignored or missed, it's probably not on Drew or Langdon's list of stuff to be done yet. Like I said, it is a big ole honkin list! :-) |

I can understand that. But then I have another "feature" request :-). How about a place on the site, where the suggestion list is available, and perhaps the admins have prioritized it? So we can all see what might be coming (and not waste time asking for it again and again!) |

I've always thought something like that would be pretty practical to do. But then again the element of surprise is completely ruined. :)

? Would it show- total amount of time spent on viewing a photo?
The reason I ask is that I may go back three times and view a shot, change my vote, add a comment....or just look and wonder. lol
