I thought I'd post about how pleased I am with a Nexto eXtreme ND-2700 I bought a few weeks ago.

I wanted something small, fairly cheap and fast to take on location to backup a memory card straight out of the camera. I bought a 320GB model, it cost me £160 and it is blisteringly fast.

It copied my full 16GB card (Extreme III) in just over 6 minutes but it is also blistering fast copying onto the computer. Either my usb2 card reader is not usb2 or this is just so much faster. I then copied the 16GB from the device onto the laptop in about 8 minutes, doing so straight from the card would take well over half an hour! I've never actually tested any other model but I am very pleased with this device! there is no viewing screen but looking at the models the screen is not much bigger than the 3in screen on the camera anyway and they were twice the price and slower!

That looks like a great travel companion item for digital equipment. I wonder about the 0-GB model at the top of the first page? Maybe that is just to interface to a computer, like a card reader?
The 0-GB may be for very bad photographers, who don't really need to save anything anyway. It could be for those of us who tend to lose everything from time to time, so it would take the stress out of wondering when it will happen. Just upload the CF cards to the "0" and it's gone. LOL : )

We've used a pair of eXtremes for a while now; as you say, awesomely fast, which means the batteries last far longer (in terms of number of card dumps) than any other PSD I've used. Can't recommend them highly enough.

The 0GB model is just the box; you add your own hard disk to it. Handy if you wanted to splash out on, say, an SSD drive instead of a standard one - which would, pressumably, improve your battery life even further.
