Booked myself on a week's trip to Taba in Egypt, going on 12th Jan. Taba is right on the border with Isreal and a ferry trip across to Jordan. Now I have to decide where to visit - Petra or Jerusalem ??
So I am looking for some advice on which one, I dont think I will be able to do both and I am leaning towards Petra but then I would also like to see Jerusalem.....
So anyone been to either or both ?
Appreciate any feedback/advice etc

I've been to Jerusalem (almost 20 years ago) ... it's not that big but it would be very hard to "see everything" (even limiting yourself to "The Old City") in one day. |

Yeh, both trips are only for the day, everything crammed in ! I know that Petra covers a very large ara, likewise Jerusalem has so much to see. It's probably my last holiday for a long time and I dont know when/if I will be back in this neck of the woods again.

Wow ! Thanks Tareq. Some wonderful shots. Can only make a day trip to Petra or Jerusalem. Would love to spend more time but I only have a week to have a break and get out and about. Just looking at the trips, Petra is on a Saturday (16th) and Jerusalem is on the Wednesday (14th). So it would be possible to fit both in maybe.

That would be good. When I have decided what I am doing I will let you know.
Thanks again

You can see the highlights of Petra in a day. It is one of the most spectacular places I have ever visited - highly recommended. Don't take the offer of a donkey ride to the entrance - it is not long and a lovely walk.

Well I am back after my trip to Egypt and Petra in Jordan. Had a really good time and Petra was amazing.
Whilst I was in Egypt we had a flash flood. The result was a lot of damage around the hotel. It was lucky that the Hotel had a massive storm drain which carried the water safely through the grounds and out to sea. I emailed some photos to the BBC and they used this one as photo of the day. Always nice to be published but this was not the best of the ones I sent them !
Will bore you all with some photos of Petra soon !
