Does anyone have a generic photography services contract that I can have?
Or point me in the right direction for one?
I lookd up PPA and could not find one. But it is possible I wanst looking in the right place either.
I have a corporate party that suddently came up and they want me to have a contract for them

go and buy John Harrington's Business Practices for Photographers (2nd ed) book. Its $25 from Amazon.
It has everything you need to know about contracts. As for 'generic', I'm not too sure what that means since a contract has to include the licensing terms for the job, liability, delivery times etc which is a very subjective thing and specific to the individual job.
Only advice I can give is to include a clause that basically says if everything goes wrong (HD failure, equipment malfunction or some other cataclysm) you will only be held liable for a refund of any deposit. I put that clause in all my contracts (weddings, commercial, corporate etc). Its never needed to be cited yet (touch wood) but im happy its there.
The licensing terms need to be spelled out in this contract of yours with no ambiguity. Have you submitted a proposal etc to the company for budget etc? If you've already spoken with them, they'll have an idea of what they want the pictures for and where they will appear.
I realize this may be no help whatsoever to you but the more things you define now, the less you have to worry about later on and protect yourself against. |

Thanks. I called PPA up and they gave me one. I will look up that book and purchase it as well. Thanks for the recommendation.
