I really like the idea of a complexity challenge. It would be nice for a change to get a comment that said "Too simple." I highly doubt that has ever happened though, just kind of a funny thought. Modern life would produce some marvelous photos in my opinion as well.

complexity sounds good!

also, how about 'odd angles'

would love a 'texture' challenge again...

'chaos'

If you really want to have a better chance of your challenge suggestions actually being added to the "database of potential challenges", you need to provide a nicely-worded, professional sounding Details part for the challenge suggestion as well. (I get a little bummed out when I see "Details" that I've had to come up with ripped apart in the forums for suggestions that have been posted without any details. =)

Also, we're always looking for good challenges that focus on a photographic technique. The most recent example of this was Painting With Light, which I came up with the "Details" for. (And even though I tried to write something that would be clear, the purpose was still mis-interpreted by a lot of people. My intention behind "painting with light" wasn't to create "light trails", but to use something other than ambient light and flashes to cast interesting light onto the subject. See here for an example and description. Also the PhotoNotes definition.)

Using challenges to encourage people to try new techniques is very educational.

All that being said, I've added most of the suggestions posted (if they weren't already in the database.) =]

Right now I'm sitting on a metal chair at a wooden desk, quietly contemplating the complexity of modern life.

Pet Portrait

Pet portrait photographers try and capture the personality or spirit of the pet - gone are the days when cats are photographed in poses atop sheepskin boxes and dogs in front of fake fires. Take a professional-quality portrait of an animal that is a pet (yours or someone else's).

This way we can get it all out of our system AND we can have some cool photographs :)

But have you got a photograph to prove it?
