If someone wanted a life size photo that will be used in window dispay cut out.
so how large would a RAW file have to be and what camera would you have to use to get this shot?? |

good question.. I wonder if any of that makes a difference when you consider the software that's out there that can make any image any size larger with out ruining it's apperance.. I can't remember which program that is.. But, I just read about it this morning.. LOL.. my memory is history these days.. I guess if you could use a program like this and just ask the company who would be printing the life size model how large of file or what the requirements are, then you could get an answer... Do you know of a company that prints these types of images.. My kids would love to get something like this of themselves... It would be fun for them to look at & a cool way to have a accurate look at what size they were at this particular age.. |

Genuine Fractals is the software that will resize without quality loss. |

i'm not endorsing this company, they are just the first hit on a google search... they seem to think you can get away with a fairly small photo... i guess because cardboard cutouts aren't typically expected to be as awesome as a 20x30 in poster hanging on the wall?

I just had this done (by a local company, a bit overpriced) for 4 cutouts, and I simply sent them my file as I edited it, without increasing its size. The company that did the cutouts had their own algorithms for upsizing the file, and I suspect that would be true of almost any such company. You might just want to check with the supplier. |
