From the thumbnail, the planet looks like a sideways face. eyes closed, nose facing up. Very cool! |

Check it - 4 browns in the last ten, 3 next to brown and one that's two points off. Maestro!
At the risk of sounding ignorant what does "seems out of focus or too focused" mean? |
Could it mean somebody took the risk and sounded ignorant?
Don't knock it - it takes courage :)

Imma knock it one more time.
Personally I like your picture. It has leaves in it. I just wish there were leaves in it. |

Notice the spaces without leaves - I might have called it Los Desparacidos |

Apparently I flubbed my rainbow - I'm hoping that someone can help me after the voting ends to let me know how I could have done it properly (technique that I flubbed I mean - I like the composition and such, wouldn't change that).
Sitting at 4.6
5 comments all telling me that I screwed up yet again.

Lea, I don't plan to vote that challenge - you can PM me with the image ID number, and I'll be happy to take a look. Let me know what you were attempting, too. I may or may not be able to help! |

I'm such an expert at set-up shots, you know... :-) Hopefully you can try a couple of things differently next time and see how they work out, yes? |

I've already voted, so I can take a look if you need another opinion. I'm not great at set-up shots, but I'm in the learning process! |

Feeling at home in this thread. Just paid for another year of addiction. Why are people doing this?
Btw. I renewed my membership, can't think of missing you all |

It is for me as well, even if I don't post enough to show it.

Upgrades to Lightroom and Photoshop. I have been trying to legitimately purchase these upgrades for a month. I tried online - they refused me and told me to call customer service. I called customer service - ordered, after some gyrations. That was at the end of October. No charges on my card, no box, no notice, no nothing. Called. The order had been cancelled due to a problem with the card. Odd. So I placed the order again this evening. Twice. First time her system shut down after we were all through. So we started again. I have an order number, and a case number. We'll see how it goes this time. I tell ya, it's almost enough to make me wanna download the crack, you know? |

Just got home from having spent most of the day with Ryan. We met up this morning, shot about 4 hours straight at a local wildlife reserve, took along sunflower seeds with us, got masses of chickadee pictures as they gorged themselves on the seeds. Cute birds and friendly as all get-out but man! Are they ever hard to capture without a flash.
Ryan bought himself a new macro lens recently, and the shots he is getting with it are just incredible. The shots I got with the 18-200 are pretty good for stuff like foliage and vegetation, but tiny birds on the wing? Not a chance. |

Argh! I just got a letter in the mail saying I neglected to pay water and sewer while living at #73 and I need to pay it.
I've never lived at #73.
I called the number, I was screamed at by the lady on the other end, saying I have a daughter and a son and where's Jennifer? I do have a daughter and a son, there is no Jennifer. She continued screaming and calling me a liar. I continued to say she has the wrong person. The she got all nice and said "ok. that's fine" and hung up. I called back to talk to the man who's name is on the letter -- no one answered. This lady was completely unreal. I wouldn't put it past her to report me to something for a place I've never lived. This was after I got a letter from the credit card company saying that they've up my rate to 17.99% even though it has nothing to do with payment history, which is spotless. Since the government is trying to crack down on the credit cards soaking people, so they're soaking people as quick as they can before the changes go into effect. Which then they can keep it there.
This is not my afternoon!
(but my rainbow entry is doing happy well!) |

I've cancelled all my cards with the big companies. I'm down to one debit card, one credit card with my bank, and I do not run a balance. I'm good with that. And my Symmetry is doing happy well, so I'm good with that, too! |

We had two companies that TRIPLED our minimum payment due. We have never missed a payment or been late. When I got to talk to one of their lovely associates, they assured me that they only did that to those that were at risk of not paying the amount due.
I wanted informed her that she was sadly mistaken because it seems to me they target the ones with good credit scores, regular payments, etc.
So, we did some financial jiggling and will be paying off those two cards, canceling the accounts, etc.
Would seem better business sense to me to keep the customer that pays less, and let them pay longer than to try and get them to pay more. We simply could not afford the tripled payments, so, we'll get rid of them altogether.

Ditto. I have my debit card, one credit card, pay off the balance monthly, and that's it. Deb, so glad your entry is doing well. My Rainbow is arcing up into 5.9 territory...so happy! |

Unfortunately, we have 3 cards with balances. I've had one card for 24 years -- they one that just jacked it up. I talked to the sales associate and after the refused to do anything about it, I told them I would be transferring the balance and closing the account. I also told them that I hoped that all their good customers did the same thing and left them with all the dead beats. If this is how they treat their valued customers, I am no longer a customer of theirs. I was so angry, it almost doubled the rate. I could actually understand a small increase. But that much? I will be so happy to close that account. |

Wow, Wendy, that kind of increase just boggles the mind. Glad you're leaving them if they're treating you that poorly. |

One of the guys Lisa works with has had a card with his bank for 21 years.
It had a $50K limit on it.
While on vacation, his car ate a transmission to the tune of $3800, which he put on the card.
When he got home, he got a letter from the CC company that they had just adjusted his limit down the the balance he had.
He sent them a check for the trans he charged while on vacation, along with pieces of the cut up card.
