The first Final Destination is one of my favorites, might go rent part 2.
Jeepers Creepers was one of the worst, 2nd one might be good.

"The Ring" or "Ringu" series is pretty good. Also check out "The Eye". Quite a bit of great Asian horror movies out now. |

*gasps*
i LOVED Jeepers Creepers!
i enjoyed Ghost Ship quite a bit, too. a particularly gruesome scene at the beginning set the tone and Mudvayne's song "Not Falling" sold the end of the movie. two thumbs up!
Ringu/The Ring are also fairly high on the freaky meter.
The scariest movie for me was the original 'Night of the Living Dead'. of course, i was only 9 at the time when i begged my parents to take me and a friend to the theater to see it. i had nightmares for weeks.
also, i was too young to see Texas Chainsaw Massacre in the theaters (and my parents refused to take me this time), so i rented it on video when i was probably in my early 20's. i tried to watch it several times and would always make it to the same spot and get so scared that i would have to turn it off. sadly, once i made it past that scene, i realized that was about as scary as the movie got and by the end of the movie, i was cheering for Leatherface to PLEASE kill all those screaming, whining people. :-P |

Most here will be too young to remember it but the ogiginal 1953 War of the Worlds had me and my sister scared enough to leave before intermission of a saturday matinee. I can still recall how relieved I was to see the light of day when we got out of the theater and into the sunlight. |

Alfred Hitchcock's, "The Birds" is the one I remember really scaring me as a kid. Then there's "Jaws". Still not comfortable in the ocean because of that one.
Edited because my keyboard went crazy and all the keys were sticking! Gotta stop eating at the computer.

That was a fantastic movie. I was too young to see it when it came out, but I have rented it a few times. I think you can rent it for a buck, well worth it. |

You should listen to the original, live radio broadcast by Orson Welles and the Mercury Theatre -- there were people calling the police and taking to the highways to flee the "Martian Invaders" up and down the Eastern seaboard ... talk about your "reality" programming. |
