If you read any of his quotes leading up to the game, Pedro is legitimately insane. Total nut job.
And Philly gets a bad rap. A few incidents a decade ago and were still hearing about snowballs at santa and all that nonsense. I make it to about a dozen games a season, and the only time there ever is any straight up hooliganism is when they play the mets...but even that is on its way out (can't have a rivalry when the other team is 15 games back!) |

Lots of drama so far. I think there will be more runs scored in games 3,4 and 5. Go Phils! Look for me at the game Sat. I'll be wearing red! ;) |

I haven't heard any national media story on how the game 1&2 winning starting pitchers grew up 30 miles from each other in Central AR. I wonder if they ever played against each other as kids.

Yea I think they mentioned that during the broadcast. There's been some great pitching, this is one of the first World Series I got excited about and it's been a good one so far. If Ryan Howard performs, the Phils will win, but if not, they might have to take him out of the middle of the lineup and put Utley 4th. |

I must admit that claiming to be the "most influential player" ever to appear in "the House That Ruth Built" is just a bit over the top ... at that I was a bit surprised he didn't tip his cap to the crowd as he left the field.
BTW: For about fifty years Ruth held the World Series record for consectutive scoreless innings pitched before the Yankees swiped him from the Red Sox -- he was a dominant pitcher before he changed the nature of the game with his power hitting.

I was a big fan of the one that was along the lines of "you have not eaten steak with me, or rice and beans, therefore you don't know me as a man, only as a player"
The NY POST has done a great job of hyping this series up, starting with the PHRILLIES ARE COMING TO TOWN article and the photoshopped image of Victorino in a skirt on the cover.
The scores in the next 3 games are going to be a little higher, just cause CBP is a hitters park for sure, and you are going to see the ball flying out of there.
I'm gonna say the phils will take 2 out of 3 games at home, and the series will end on game 6 in NYC.

Uh, I think the New Yankee Stadium set a record for home runs hit this year, and I think I heard the announcers say that there was only one game this year when neither team hit a home run ... however, the predicted warmer weather in Phiadelphia should help the offenses. |

Yeah, but I also think the wind was blowing in, at least in game 1, not to mention how deep the rest of that park is outside of right field. It was either Victorino or Ruiz that sent a blast out to center/left center that would have been way gone in any other park.
Im excited for tonite though.
What should be interesting in Philly is that public transportation is set to go on strike in an hour and 20 minutes, so the city should be pretty messy for all venturing in/out. |

Also, in my first act as a good husband, I am passing up a $50 ticket to Game 4 and letting her have it tomorrow night.
Me having a 101 degree fever may have been the cause though, im clearly not in my right mind. |

A 50 dollar ticket to the World Series? where is this seat, 6th row? Of the Parking lot? lol I went to game 4 of the 82 World Series, Brewers vs Cards and the ticket cost about 50 bucks. We sat in the upper deck about 2/3rds the way up. I would figure a seat anywhere in the ballpark now days would hit ya up for at least $150 then again I wouldn't know because it has been since 1982 that my team made it to the series. Hope your fever passes.

This is a standing room ticket. I know her brother is charging her $50, so I don't know how much the face value is (but the scalping value is $800) |

Ugh, blech, eww, etc.
I want to belive that this will now go to 7 games.
These have been awesome games though, edge of your seat kind of games.
We got Cliff Lee tonite, who went 9 innings with 0 ER in game 1, and maybe Pedro in game 6, who was also pretty dominant.
This could be a close one (or the yanks can win it tonite and call it a year for the phils)
My original Phils in 6 is out, its phils in 7 now!!!!!
My questions is who the Phils pitch in game 7, do you go with Hamels who admitted that hes ready for the season to be over so he can get a fresh start on a bad season (which was still a pretty good season) or do you go with Cliff Lee on 2 1/2 days rest and have the bullpen ready to go the distance if need be? |

I think Manuel is losing this WS. J.A. Happ could have been a difference maker. Instead he's the forgotten man. Hell, even the crafty Moyer could have been usable in this series. Why he started Blanton is beyond me. He did the Yanks a huge favor. I say Hamels pitches game 7 if it goes that far.

Weird strikes called last night from the home plate umpire, but it didn't seem he was playing favorites, at least. Also weird when Posada tagged Phillies' runner Howard at home but had the ball knocked out of his hands (not to mention that Howard never tagged the home plate)... and Philly got the run. Might have been bothersome if the game had ended differently.
Pretty stunning when Johnny Damon stole two bases. |

Yeah, I mean the ball being knocked out of his hand negates the tag anyway, but I was surprised they didn't appeal and then tag out home. I think if they had tagged him right there after the ball got knocked out, he would have been out, but instead they went to 2nd, and thats when they called him safe at home. |

Yea I'm sure Howard would have tried to step on the plate but saw the ball get thrown. I'm actually rooting for the Phils today, hoping to get this game back to NY, and I'm not into hearing all the car horns and parading in the streets tonight, I want to go to bed early. |

Looking forward to tonight's game and hopefully a NY win. I'm not an avid Yankees fan, but I support the home team, and I've got no reason to root for Philadelphia. |

The media seems very pro-phillies on this one, as there has been more reporting about game 7 than there has been about game 6.
I think a fully rested and healthy Pedro is going to be pretty solid tonite, especially against a 3 days rested "I got nothing left after 6 innings" Petitte.
I'm praying for a win! |

What a downer. D O W N E R.
Oh well. Jimmy Rollins said it best - something to the extent of - were ok with winning it every other year.
Edit: âNever look back. Itâll still feel good to win it every other year.â
