I installed it, but I can't live without mouse gestures anymore.

I hope they'll happen soon for Chrome, too.

nah your not, it is weird, you have to go to the spanner and have show bookmarks bar. I can not figure out how to organize it either, you can highight the bookmark and drag and drop it, but then the whole thing goes away. baffles me

You can't organize it - it's just alphabetical. I poked around in the "send us your comments page" for Chrome and they seem to recognize that the whole favorites thing needs work. It looks like they may eventually alter it to work like Goggle Bookmarks do, where they're stored online and you can access them from any computer. I hope that happens soon, as it'd be a lot easier to use the Net between two computers then.

Well, that will certainly make it easier for Google the government (and any dedicated hacker) to know what sites you frequent ...

I've been using Google Chrome pre-beta on my Mac for a couple of days now. One or two issues (well, it is pre-beta!) but generally I'm liking it more and more. I installed it to get better performance from Google Wave (Firefox was bogging down), and ended up using it for other things. It's now my default browser.

It's snappy, and the UI is simple and works well. e.g. when you open a new tab from a link, the tab gets created next to the one you're reading rather than at the end of the tabs.

You can download the pre-beta here: //dev.chromium.org/getting-involved/dev-channel

I really like Chrome but if they don't get a better cookie manager to block specific tracking cookies, I may go back to Firefox.

I've been using for a little while now, and it is nice and smooth.

My only complaint is the lack of an AdBlocker like the one Firefox had. Without it, so many pages look SO cluttered now.

Been using Chrome since it came out. The lack of an XML reader is dumb. I could do ad blocking with a hosts file, but why should I have to? Put an ad blocker or easy to manage extensions in there. Proprietary apps I need to use do not support Chrome, and neither does the (Canadian) federal government's online tax payment system, which is linked with the big five's web banking systems, so that sucks. Chrome is nice and light and fast, but it's not a production browser.

considering Googles main source of revenue is ads ( i'm pretty sure anyway ), i'm not too surprised they didn't incorporate an ad blocker.

I use Chrome 95% of the time - but I agree with Louis & Soup it does have a number of shortcomings, but hell, in browserland its still the baby of the bunch so hopefully they will catchup with the big boys eventually. I think once Googlewave goes mainstream it might encourage more users to adopt it - however Wave doesn't rely on Chrome..... yet.

but google, and apple are breaking up. so safari support may fall to the wayside.

firefox, and IE i dunno. but i'm guessing google will try to funnel wave users into the chrome browser.

I just downloaded the pre-beta for Mac version. Stripped everything off from the set-up and have Wave homepage set and so far that is all I am using it for. However, for Wave (the reason I installed it) it is much smoother than Firefox and waves synch much faster.
