I hope this is the right place for this post, its kind of software-ish.
I have been trying to make for myself a new blog, only my webhost scammed me out of mysql so I can't do any wordpress which would have been my preference. So Blogger it is. I found two or three templates in wordpress that I liked. Namely ones that look like this: //pb.hassii.com/en/ Photo on top, menu-ing above, brief description below, with more recent posts on a slider-ish thing below that.
Does anyone know of a blogger template that works similarly? I found one thats "close" (simplex photogallery) but doesn't have (and won't allow - as soon as I add words the photo goes X) the descriptions below which I really need/want.
Or, alternatively, does anyone know a workaround to lack of mysql database?

Presumably, you don't have access to any other databases (e.g. postgresql) as well. Blosxom looks like it uses a file-backed datastore.

Get a new webhost? Seriously, if your current host "scammed you out" of it, I'd move hosts.
