With the recent DQ, I'm a little nervous.

School is closed, so I can't edit like I usually do. I'm editing in DPP, but I don't see an sidecar files. How can I tell if DPP is editing my RAW files or not? When I right-click>info, I don't see anything that has to do with whether or not the file has been edited.

If you are not sure. Just make a copy of the original RAW file before you start editing and set it aside. Do all your edits to the copy. Best way to play it safe.

RAW files aren't edited. All changes done in DPP or any other RAW converter software are non-distructive.

That's what I thought until I was reading the tread about the DQ and someone said that there are some programs that do actually edit the RAW file.

Oh well. I'll enter my photo anyway.

Then Bugzeye's suggestion is the only way to be 100% sure. Don't touch the originals at all.
