Is there a way to pre-validate a photo? Even if you submit it for validation at midnight when the voting starts, by the time it's validated, fifty people have voted and many with 1/10 if they think it's a fake (I realized many don't respect the voting etiquette).

Hey Hey!

Sure you can. On your won shot, you can request a validation at any time after you submit. On others, you can only request a disqualification after the voting starts (cause you cant see 'em b4 then).

Hey Rooster! You're always the first one to help me, I greatly appreciate that.
What I meant to ask was whether I can validate, for example, my picture for the Shallow DOP challenge immediately. I can't seem to find a link for it though. I think you're thinking of the link once the voting began...

Hey Cool Cat,

Always happy to help out a friendly DPCer! I'm pretty sure you ask for validation before the voting starts when you enter your own shot. Maybe if you preview it or click on it. If neither works, go to help> contact & send an email to the admins.

BTW, I just added you as a fave fotog! Looking forwarrd to seein gyour latest submissions!
Peace Dog,
I'm out!

The last time I did it, it was not possible yet immediately on submission. I had to wait until voting started.

As soon as the voting starts and you click on your own picture, then you see a box which allows you to request validation.

willem is correct. Once voting starts, you can go to your own image and click the link that says "Request an admin note". You will be taken to a screen where you can select your original file, and most importantly, explain that you are either 1) submitting this as proof early because you may not be around when the challenge ends (and thus, an "admin note" is not required) or 2) explaining why you feel your picture may be recommended for disqualification and that you'd like it reviewed by the Site Council as soon as possible, after which we will put a "This photo has been validated" tag under the image to indicate to users that the photo was created within the rules.

Remember that since Shallow DOF is an "Advanced Editing" challenge, the only acceptable reasons for a voter to ask for a DQ would be text on the photo, what appears to be a multi-image composite, or an obvious date violation (i.e., picture taken of the SuperBowl).
