NEED HELP!
I don't know what to buy, any suggestions? I know the price has to be under $1000.00 as it is all I have to spend, please help. I want a canon, just not sure what the best would be. I currently have a Rebel XTI, and I know there are better out there for around the $1000.00 range. PLEASE HELP.

B&H has the coano 50D for just under $1000.

Should be a nice step up from the Rebel.

Agreed. If you want to go right up to that $1000 mark, the 50D will be awesome. You can also do well with the 40D if you want to have a little left over.

Why don't you just get the cam fixed and use the rest of the money to get a nice new lens.

I know Canon has a customer loyalty program and they sometimes offer free repairs or trade-up to a better model. I'd give their customer service a call and see what they'll do for you.

Here's a phone number posted in a very long thread at DPReview.com. I'm not sure what the offer is for an xxxD, but I think you can upgrade for under $400. Give them a call! :-)

Im calling them now on hold, hopefully this will work. I just really want a camera today. I hate not having it!!

Anyone have a Canon EOS T1i? If so, would you reccomend this camera?

forget the 50d, get the 40d and save money. You can find one for about $650 used nowadays.

Or, try and get an old 5d for as close to $1000 as you can.
